Welcome to NaijaFund. By using our platform, you agree to these terms. Please read them carefully.

1. Who We Are

NaijaFund is a Nigerian crowdfunding platform that connects campaign creators with donors. We facilitate payments but do not guarantee that any campaign goal will be reached.

2. Campaign Rules

• All campaigns must be truthful and not misleading.
• Campaign creators must provide accurate bank details for disbursement.
• We reserve the right to reject or remove any campaign that violates our policies.
• Funds raised must be used for the stated purpose.
• Campaigns involving illegal activities are strictly prohibited.

3. Platform Fees

NaijaFund charges an 8% platform fee on all successful donations. This fee covers payment processing, email notifications, platform maintenance, and fraud prevention. Paystack also charges their standard transaction fee (approximately 1.5% + ₦100, capped at ₦2,000).

4. Donor Responsibilities

Donations are voluntary. While we verify campaigns before they go live, NaijaFund cannot guarantee the outcome of any campaign. We encourage donors to read campaign stories carefully before donating.

5. Refunds

All donations are final. Refunds are only issued in cases of verified fraud. If you believe a campaign is fraudulent, please contact us immediately at hello@naijafund.ng.

6. Privacy

We collect and process your data in accordance with our Privacy Policy. We do not sell your personal data to third parties.

7. Limitation of Liability

NaijaFund is a facilitator and is not liable for the actions of campaign creators or donors. We make no warranties about the outcome of any campaign.

8. Governing Law

These terms are governed by the laws of the Federal Republic of Nigeria.

Privacy Policy

Your privacy matters to us. This policy explains how NaijaFund collects, uses, and protects your information.

1. Information We Collect

• Campaign creators: Name, phone number, bank account details, campaign story and photos.
• Donors: Name (optional), email address, donation amount.
• All users: Browser type, IP address, pages visited (via standard server logs).

2. How We Use Your Information

• To process donations and disburse funds to campaign creators.
• To send email notifications via Brevo (campaign updates, donation alerts).
• To send email confirmations via Brevo.
• To verify campaign authenticity and prevent fraud.
• To improve our platform.

3. Payment Processing

All payments are processed by Paystack. Your card details are never stored on NaijaFund's servers. Paystack's privacy policy applies to payment data.

4. Data Sharing

We do not sell your data. We share data only with service providers (Paystack, Brevo, Supabase) strictly for operating the platform.

5. Data Security

We use industry-standard security practices including HTTPS, encrypted database storage, and restricted access to sensitive data.

6. Your Rights

You may request access to, correction of, or deletion of your personal data by emailing hello@naijafund.ng.

We use minimal cookies for session management only. We do not use advertising cookies.

Anti-Money Laundering (AML) Policy

NaijaFund is committed to preventing its platform from being used for money laundering, terrorist financing, or any other financial crime. This policy outlines the controls we maintain in accordance with the Money Laundering (Prohibition) Act and other applicable Nigerian regulations.

1. Know Your Customer (KYC)

NaijaFund collects and verifies the identity of every individual who raises funds on the platform before their campaign is approved. The following information is mandatory:

• Full legal name
• Active Nigerian phone number
• Email address
• Nigerian bank account number and bank name (verified at withdrawal)
• Government-issued photo ID — one of: National Identification Number (NIN) slip, Permanent Voter's Card, Driver's Licence, or International Passport
• Live selfie photograph, manually cross-checked against the submitted ID by our review team
• Supporting documents relevant to the campaign category (e.g. hospital letters, school admission letters, community letters)

No campaign is approved without completed KYC. All identity documents are stored securely and are accessible only to authorised NaijaFund staff.

2. Fund Flow & Paystack Integration

All donor payments are collected exclusively through Paystack, a CBN-licensed payment service provider. NaijaFund uses Paystack's Split Payments feature to ensure that campaign funds are settled directly to the verified bank account of the campaign creator at the point of transaction. NaijaFund retains only its 8% platform fee. At no stage do third-party donor funds accumulate in a NaijaFund-controlled account.

3. Transaction Monitoring

NaijaFund monitors transactions on an ongoing basis for the following indicators:

• Unusually large or rapid donations to a single campaign from the same source
• Donations that appear structurally designed to avoid reporting thresholds
• Campaigns with implausible goals relative to supporting documentation
• Multiple campaigns created by the same individual using different identities
• Withdrawal requests to bank accounts not matching the registered identity

4. Suspicious Activity

Where NaijaFund identifies activity consistent with money laundering or fraud, we will:

• Immediately suspend the campaign and freeze pending withdrawals
• Preserve all transaction records, identity documents, and communication logs
• File a Suspicious Transaction Report (STR) with the Nigerian Financial Intelligence Unit (NFIU) as required by law
• Cooperate fully with law enforcement and regulatory authorities

5. Staff Responsibilities

All team members with access to campaign data and financial records are trained to recognise red flags and are required to escalate concerns to the compliance officer immediately. Access to sensitive data is restricted and logged.

6. Record Keeping

NaijaFund retains all KYC documents, transaction records, and campaign data for a minimum of five (5) years in compliance with Nigerian AML regulations, or longer where required by law or ongoing investigation.

7. Review

This policy is reviewed annually or whenever there is a material change in our operations, technology, or applicable regulation.
